Baton Rouge, LA – Last week, a large group of influential civic, community and healthcare leaders gathered to celebrate the opening of Just Kids Dental, a new children’s dental clinic in historic Delmont Village. Mike Walker, Mayor-President Pro Tempore, read a proclamation from the city declaring February 26, 2009 as “Just Kids Dental” day. “It was an honor to attend the ribbon cutting for the first Just Kids Dental clinic in Baton Rouge,” Walker said. “The clinic is a result of a tremendous private-public partnership. The Delmont Village Shopping Center, a long-time center piece of our community, has received a modern, technologically advanced dental clinic where children and young adults can receive critically important oral health care. I am proud of this partnership and welcome it to our community.”

(Baton Rouge, LA) Since opening in February of 2009, Just Kids Dental has experienced a rapid influx of patients in need of treatment, which has spurred a subsequent growth in personnel. When Just Kids Dental first opened its doors in Delmont Village, the practice consisted of two part time dentists. Due to the overwhelming response from the community over the past 9 months, the clinic is now fully staffed to meet the current need and offer the critical dental health care that the children of our community deserve. The present dental team includes Drs. Robin-Levy Bookman, Billy Hall, Eva Daigle, Caroline Black, Allysa Englert and Anne Rob Sommers. Just Kids Dental also welcomed its 5000 th visit last month, just one of many milestones the clinic plans to reach in the fight against oral disease. “The community response to our arrival in the neighborhood has been amazing,” said Dr. Billy, the clinic’s lead dentist. “We are extremely excited to be able to provide quality dental care to these children who often find it difficult to obtain. With our present staff, I feel this first five thousand is just a small fraction of our potential. We’re looking forward to bringing the entire community together to help these kids improve their oral health,” Dr. Hall concluded.
