Updated for Magisk v14.0. Most of the changes since v13.3 was under the hood, so not much has changed in relation to this guide.

The guide is not forgotten... Magisk v15.0 is out in the real world and the guide do need to be updated. There are also a bunch of other stuff I plan to change and add.
But, it's the holidays and I will NOT do that on a phone... As soon as I have access to a computer, it'll be updated.

Ok!
Finally had some time to work on the guide.
It's been updated to Magisk v15.2 and there are also some reworked, updated and new sections. One major update is that the "Installing Magisk and modules" post has gotten so big it now needs two separate posts. If you have any links pointing to parts of this thread, they might now be broken...

Major update to the format, even though nothing new has been added to the guide.
Everything has been moved to a new location, my own little wiki where I have much better control over editing, layout, linking, etc. :good: Now that everything's moved over and functional, I'll start polishing and updating everything over there instead.
Go check it out! You'll find it at the following address:

Just realised I had not updated the guide for Magisk v16.0. That's been fixed now... :good:
Check the changelog in the OP and the guide can found here:

For minor updates and clarifications I don't bother with any kind of changelog or announcements.
Today though I've updated the info about getting the error "The response is invalid" when checking SafetyNet, since many users have been reporting about it... Bottom line: don't worry about it.
As always, you'll find they guide right here:

There's been several small fixes and updates to the text over the past few months. Most to small to bother with a changelog or release note.
Today though, I wanted to inform that I've updated the tips in Hiding root from apps with a possible way of hiding root detection, found by @alpsayin for the Santander Bank app. It's very likely that this method will work on other apps as well... Give it a go if you're having troubles hiding root from an app.

Holy spam Batman! Magisk v17.0 really caused a ruckus, didn't it?
I'll update the guide for Magisk v17.1 and Manager v5.9.1 as soon as possible. Have been working 10-12 hour days the past few days, so time is not something I have in abundance. Gonna start my University studies on monday as well, so I'm not expecting that to change any time soon... I'll try to get it done in the next few days though.

Did a quick run-through of the text and cleaned it up to match Magisk v17.1 and Manager v5.9.1.
Uni started yesterday (and more huge life events are coming up in quick succession), so I'm not expecting to be around much from now on. I'll do my best to keep the guide updated.
Gonna keep the thread unlocked from this point on. It's not stickied anymore and there might be good discussions being had.
As always, you'll find the actual guide here: https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk/

There's been a few running updates to the guide over the last couple of months. Small tweaks here and there. Did a quick overhaul for Magisk v18.0 and Manager v6.1.0.
